34 Week Appointment

Ryan and Tucker went with me to my appointment. My doctor was running late for pretty much the first time so it was a little hard to entertain Tucker during the wait.

We discussed the birth plan and the doctor seemed fine with how I wanted things to go. It's not like I'm asking for anything crazy, like making soup out of my placenta and serving it to him for a job well-done. Nah, he can go ahead and toss it in the Biohazard container, or whatever happens to all of those evicted placentas out there. Did you know some people take white paper to make a "placenta tree print"? I guess you lay the bloody organ on some paper, press down, lift if up and it leaves a stunning image (I am being facetious if you couldn't tell) that resembles a tree with leaves. The blood vessels really give it some beautiful texture, I'm sure.

We were talking the whole time, so he never mentioned what I measured or what her heartrate was today. He did poke around a bit and believes she is head down, but he will be able to tell better in 2 weeks when I start having internal checks.

I did have a bit of a weight jump this week but looking at my snausage (no, that isn't a typo, I said snausage and I mean snausage!) fingers and feet, I am chalking it up to water retention. Doctor agreed, especially when I explained how freakishly thirsty I have been in the past 2 days! He said there is no cause for concern because my blood pressure is fine as are my urine checks.

Sooooooo....next appointment in 2 weeks when the cooter checks begin!
